About Microblading
Microblading, also first known as eyebrow embroidery, Feathering or 3D brows is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that allows you to dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrows. It is the perfect procedure for clients of all types! Be it alopecia, cancer, thyroid disorders or just plain over-waxing that has made your Eyebrows disappear Microblading is your answer!
Eyebrow Microblading is performed by manually depositing pigment in the basal layer of the epidermis by a special pen tool. It does NOT involve the use of a machine.
Unlike permanent makeup brow treatments, Microblading involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that are more natural-looking than tattooing, brow pencils or powders. The blade of microblading pen contains numerous pins that are 3 times thinner than the needles used for tattooing.
It's approximately a 2-2.5 hour procedure, the first hour is measuring and designing and choosing a pigment and making sure you are happy with the design second hour is waiting for topical freezing to set in and doing the work.
Microblading is a TWO step procedure. Within 4-8 weeks you will need a touch-up. It's necessary because the first appointment sets the design and we watch to see how the pigment settles under the skin, 30-50% fading of the work is totally normal and expected.
The 2nd touch up is very important to set the new strokes that need to be put in and fix any fading that has happened.. After that it lasts anywhere from 1-2 years, most people like touch-ups in between some don't. Its a preference based on how much fading happens.
